Smoked Cinnamon Anejo Tequila Old Fashioned

INGREDIENTS

2 oz TDLG Anejo Tequila

1 oz Cointreau

1/4 oz Cinnamon syrup

2 dashes Orange bitters

 

RECIPE

  • Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass
  • Stir with ice
  • Strain the drink into a cinnamon smoked rocks glass over a large cube of ice
  • Garnish with a burnt cinnamon stick

 

To make cinnamon syrup:

  • Combine one cup of water, 4-5 broken up cinnamon sticks in saucepan
  • Bring to simmer
  • Add in one cup of sugar
  • Gently stir
  • Maintain light simmer for 5-10 minutes
  • Remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool

 

Once cooled, strain the syrup through a mesh strainer to remove the cinnamon sticks Store the syrup in a glass jar in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks
